Things to do with kids in west Scotland – Ayrshire

There is no shortage of things to do with kids in Ayrshire. If you’re a sightseeing family, then the Culzean Castle overlooking the Firth of Clyde is a must see. Owned by the National Trust of Scotland, the castle is situated in Culzean Castle Country Park. It features woodland trails, vibrant gardens and even an adventure cove.

If your family is more active and animal orientated, Heads of Ayr Farm Park is ideal. The farm park has an abundance of fun activities for kids. In addition to all the animals you can meet and great, there is so much to see and do! Outdoor activities include bumper boats, quad bikes and even a play park with a giant sandpit, if the weather takes a turn for the worse, Play n Wild adventure barn is an indoor play space perfect for children of all ages.

Things to do with kids in Glasgow

Fun-filled activities for kids in the Glasgow area are aplenty.  For the thrill seekers, there’s Pinkston Watersports Centre, located just outside the city. This amazing centre offers water sports activities such as white-water rafting and kayaking. For the more relaxed family, why not hop on the CitySightseeing bus! Explore the deep, rich history of Glasgow, with stops at key landmarks such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Glasgow Cathedral.

Things to do with kids Dumfries & Galloway

If you’re in the Dumfries and Galloway area and are looking for adventure filled activities for the children, look no further than Dalscone Farm Fun. The perfect day out for children of all ages! This park has large indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as a host of farm animals to meet. The kids will love the onsite toy shop. What’s not to like?

Another must visit when looking for things to do with kids in west Scotland is the Dino Park at Hetland Garden Centre in Carrutherstown. This ideal place for dinosaur fanatics! With dinosaur themed soft play area, and a Dino Park with a range of pre-historic species and archaeology related activities when you feel like stepping back in time and exploring the past.

In case there weren’t enough things to do with the children in Dumfries & Galloway, be sure to check out the Cocoabean Company, located only a 30-minute drive from Dumfries and perfect for children to get hands on with their favourite treat. This interactive chocolate experience allows you to try your hand at being a chocolatier. Plus, you will create a number of delicious creations to take away and taste later on. Yum!
