Days out and attractions
There are a whole host of attractions near Viewfield Manor to enjoy. From historic castles to perfect fishing locations and golf courses, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
One of Scotland’s best loved castles with a 600 acre estate which will give guests and owners a great day out. You can discover 40 buildings and follies in the estate, including Robert Adam’s Oval Staircase; the dramatic centrepiece of the castle. Visitors can explore the woods, beaches, parkland, swan pond and cliffs of the estate and admire the collection of flintlock pistols and military swords.
The museum comprises the famous Burns Cottage where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where he set his greatest work, the elegant monument and gardens created in his honour and a modern museum housing the world’s most important collection of his life and works.
Craufurdland Fisheries is set on the Craufurdland Lochan, on the Craufurdland Estate, just outside Fenwick, Ayrshire. The fishery is stocked with rainbow, brown and blue trout. Fishing is available from the bank or on one of the boats on the lochan. There are facilities which include refreshments, tackle for sale and tuition.
Belleisle Estate is one of the most popular family attractions within South Ayrshire and also the largest park in Ayr. In addition to the two municipal golf courses within the park, it also houses a number of animals including deer, ponies, pot-bellied pigs, a kiddies' pet area and an aviary. There is a fantastic walled garden and a huge Victorian greenhouse to explore and a children's play area to experience. At the heart of the estate lies an 18th century country house which is currently being renovated.
Golfing in Ayrshire
With over 25 golf courses in the area, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Viewfield Manor! There are 2 courses at nearby Belleisle Park, in addition to Beith Golf Club and Lochwinnoch Golf Club, to name just a few. Visitors are welcome and many of the nearby courses offer the hiring of equipment so you don't have to remember your own.
