Northumberland Coastal Path
A 60-mile route split into 6 sections, the Northumberland Coastal Path is easily accessible from the park. The Seahouses to Belford route is the nearest to Wooler and takes you and your pooch up the coast and past the iconic Bamburgh Castle.
The scenic Cheviot Hills in the heart of the Northumberland National Park are great for all levels of walkers and their four-legged friends. Whether you fancy a 5-mile route or The Big One at 23 miles, the Cheviot Hills walks offer it all.
A major attraction for visitors to the area, Holy Island offers a 4.3-mile circular footpath for you and your pet to best explore the island on foot. Accessed from the main car park, the anticlockwise path takes you along the coast, past Lindisfarne Castle, before heading back to Holy Island village. Don’t forget that the island can only be accessed when the tide is low, so make sure to plan ahead! You can check crossing times here.
Etal Riverside Walk
Follow this path through the forest and along the River Till. Full of wildlife, this walk can lead on to others, and you may spot deer, otters, heron and more!
Duddo Stone Circle
Just a short drive from the park, you can find Duddo Stone Circle, perfect for any history enthusiasts. The fairly short walk is clearly pathed and has an information sign for the stone circle.
