Typical Duties & Responsibilities

You will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage service and the staff, leading by example with a friendly and professional approach. This role is key to ensuring that we can provide the quality service that our guests expect, providing them with another option to self-catering and allowing them to spend more precious time with family and friends.

Some examples of the day-to day duties are:

  • Manage the team rota, ensuring that appropriate staffing levels and effective customer service is maintained throughout opening hours whilst adhering to budgets.
  • Manage an effective stock control system; ordering from approved suppliers, rotating stock and minimising waste.
  • Manage cellar areas to ensure optimum quality of product, cleanliness and safe storage with the minimum of waste.
  • Make sure that all team members are suitably trained, have comprehensive product knowledge and understand what is required from them in their job role
  • Ensure all facilities are clean, tidy and well presented.
  • Provide a bar and catering service during busy periods and in the quieter times of the season.
  • Ensure that all staff are smart, wearing uniforms and name badges at all times

Skills & Experience Required

You should be passionate about hospitality, enjoy exceeding customer expectations, and have a hands-on attitude. You will need to have previous experience of managing a bar/restaurant and be able to demonstrate effective measures for reducing waste and increasing sales. You will also need to have previous experience with managing and developing a staff team and be able to demonstrate effective ways of motivating the team to achieve excellence. Above all, you will need to have the right attitude. We don’t believe in ‘that’s not my job’ so you will need to be adaptable and flexible to help the wider team meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, in particular managing a food & beverage service and staff.
  • A good knowledge of relevant Licencing Laws (a personal license is desirable).
  • Excellent communication, numeracy and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, friendly and professional manner.
  • A strong commitment to delivering consistently exceptional customer service.
