Typical Duties & Responsibilities

Our Skilled Labourers are responsible for ensuring that the park grounds, facilities, buildings and equipment are well maintained by providing proactive and reactive maintenance solutions. They help keep the holiday accommodation in working order, the play parks and grounds safe and inviting, and they build & repair wooden structures.

Some examples of the day-to-day duties are:

  • Prioritise daily work based on job sheets, emergencies and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Complete all jobs to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Operate machinery and equipment such as power tools etc. safely.
  • Build and repair pathways, flower beds, fences and other forms of wooden structures.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for someone with demonstrable previous experience in a similar role. Specific skills in joinery are essential. You will need to be well organised, hardworking and happy to work outside in all weathers. A valid Driving Licence is essential. Above all, you will need to have the right attitude. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and so we expect you to do everything in your power to make their Verdant experience the absolute best it could possibly be. We don’t believe in ‘that’s not my job’ so you will need to be adaptable and flexible to help the wider park team meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a joinery or trade role.
  • Good knowledge of techniques and terminology used in the field.
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work alone or with others.
  • A valid driving licence and own transport.
