Finance Manager

Salary:  £50,000 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed-Term (9 month maternity cover)

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the production of the monthly management accounts, as well as various tasks such as, preparing weekly management information, business partnering, implementing new systems and improving processes and controls, budgets and forecasting as well as being an integral part of the annual audit and tax return preparation. Deputising in the absence of the Financial Controller and managing and supporting the rest of the team.

Some examples of the day-to-day duties are:

  • Developing and maintaining appropriate and effective systems and procedures for financial control, in line with regulatory and audit requirements and agreed policies
  • Management of income and expenditure operational systems and procedures, including BACS, online payments in and out, cashless systems, cash procedures and banking
  • Producing all financial reports and returns in line with agreed regulatory and internal timescales, including:  Budgets; Accounts; VAT returns; Internal management reports.

 

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for a Finance Manager with experience in a similar role and with a good working knowledge of finance systems, Microsoft Word and Excel. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, confident and well organised with the capability to interpret data, identify and resolve discrepancies, and meet deadlines. Good communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and a professional approach are essential. Working within a small team, you must be adaptable, flexible and willing to diversify. You should be fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or qualified by experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Experience in a financial management role, not necessarily in the leisure industry
  • A high level of proficiency with Excel and financial software programmes
  • The ability to create accessible financial management reports
  • Previous experience in leading and managing a team is desirable
