Verdant Leisure Named 8th Best Company to Work for in the UK

AND SCOOPS PRESTIGIOUS 2nd BEST LEISURE & HOSPITALITY COMPANY TO WORK FOR ACCOLADE

Bespoke holiday park operator, Verdant Leisure, is delighted to announce it has been named 8th Best Large Company to Work for in the UK & 2nd Best Leisure & Hospitality Company to Work for by Best Companies. These accreditations are recognition of extraordinary levels of workplace engagement and confirms that the company genuinely values its people.

Verdant Leisure has also been named Number One Best Company to Work for in the North East.

These commendations have come from the company’s employees, who each completed confidential surveys, reflecting and commenting on their experiences with their employer. This is the first year Verdant Leisure has achieved such high ratings, having placed 13th in the UK in 2020, and the company believes this has been, in part, due to employee communication and care during the pandemic.

Last year Verdant Leisure told every one of its 250 employees that nobody at the company would lose their job because of Covid-19. While head office and Verdant’s parks were closed, the senior management team put a number of communication channels in place to ensure everyone was communicated with regularly, including initiatives such as weekly ‘Tea at 3’.

For the last two years, Verdant Leisure has increased investment in training and development across all of its ten holiday parks and Lancaster based head office. A commitment to outstanding customer service remains at the core of the company’s values.

The company has developed an internal brand just for its staff, ‘Team Verdant’, with employees able to enjoy fantastic offers and discounts from high street stores as well as an annual holiday on one of its parks so that they, and their families, can experience the brand from a customer’s viewpoint.  The holiday park operator celebrates and recognise its staff’s achievements through a monthly ‘Verdant Stars’ programme and annual Team Conference.

Graham Hodgson, Chief Executive at Verdant Leisure says: “We are absolutely delighted with these accolades from Best Companies. Most of all, we’re thrilled that this positive feedback has come from our valued team. All of our staff have worked so hard in what has been a difficult period for the Leisure & Hospitality sector, we are so proud of them and know how much they are looking forward to the 2021 season.”

“It is the shared efforts of everyone at Verdant Leisure that allows us to deliver such a high-quality experience for our guests. Since Verdant Leisure was founded in 2010, customer service has been at the core of our business and values. 11 years later it is wonderful to see our team still delivering such fantastic results. So many of them have grown with the company, flourishing and progressing in their careers with us.”

The certification was awarded after Verdant Leisure’s employees completed a confidential survey asking them to reflect and comment on their experience with their employer. A sophisticated analysis then measured how engaged employees are at work.
