Grounds and Site Maintenance Team Member - Coldingham Bay

Location: Coldingham Bay Leisure Park, Eyemouth, TD14 5NT

Salary: £8.35 per hour (16-17 years old), £12.21 (18+)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Sunday.

About the Role:

 Our Grounds & Site Maintenance Team are responsible for ensuring that the park grounds, facilities, buildings and equipment are well maintained on a daily basis. They help keep the holiday accommodation in working order, the play parks and grounds safe and inviting, they site caravans, repair decking and are generally very handy! The role is key to ensuring our customers receive the high standard of accommodation and facilities they have paid for and, in the event of any problems, they are dealt with and resolved quickly and professionally.

 

Some examples of the day-to day duties are:

  • Maintain all grounds and public areas to a high standard.
  • Maintain and landscape all grounds, including grass, hedges, play areas and gardens.
  • Repair and landscape pitches, including decking, patios and paths.
  • Assist in the siting and de-siting of caravans and lodges.
  • Safely operate mowers, tools and other equipment ensuring they are safely maintained.
  • Rake leaves and clean walkways, fields and other facilities.
  • Keep the park and facilities attractive, welcoming, safe and free of litter.

About the Person:

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role, or the ability to learn quickly. Skills such as joinery, plumbing, landscaping etc are advantageous. You will need to be well organised, hard working and happy to work outside in all weathers. A valid Driving Licence is essential. Above all, you will need to have the right attitude. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and so we expect you to do everything in your power to make their Verdant experience the absolute best it could possibly be. We don’t believe in ‘that’s not my job’ so you will need to be adaptable and flexible to help the wider park team meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A clean driving licence.
  • Previous experience in a grounds/maintenance role.
  • Previous experience in the siting of caravans is desirable.
  • A hard-working approach and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing skills.
  • Experience of using hand and power tools.
