Leisure Manager at Riverside Leisure Park

Salary:  £26,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 40 hours over 5 days each week.

Location: Riverside Leisure Park, South Road, Wooler, Northumberland, NE71 6NJ

About the Role

Our Leisure Manager is responsible for the effective management of the leisure facilities on park, as well as performing lifeguard duties for the pool as needed. You will lead the team of lifeguards, ensuring that the facilities are appropriately staffed, all health and safety checks are completed and recorded, and guest experience is prioritised. The role includes responsibility for plant rooms and management of the booking system.

Typical duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage, organise and motivate the Leisure Team, including recruiting and inducting new starters and training existing staff
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks including team rotas, safety compliance checks and legislative compliance checks
  • Manage the pool and plant equipment ensuing they are in good working order
  • Proactively review customer feedback, dealing with it in an urgent matter in order to improve customer satisfaction
  • Manage agreed budgets or controllable expenses and wage costs, alongside determining and implementing strategies to increase year on year sales

About the Person

You will need to have previous experience in a similar role, with the qualification or training to back it up. An NPLQ (or equivalent) and First Aider qualification are essential as you will need to be able to undertake Lifeguard duties if needed. Pool plant operator qualification is essential in order to undertake the plant room responsibilities. You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly and passionate about excellence.

Skills and experience required:

  • A friendly, flexible and professional attitude
  • Proven, recent experience in a similar role
  • Experience in leading and developing a team
  • A current NPLQ Lifeguard qualification
  • A current Pool Plant Operations qualification.

As this role involves working with children you will be required to complete a DBS criminal records check, the cost of which will be met by the company.
