Salary:  From £25,000 per annum (negotiable, dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time position. Bars and Restaurants are open 7 days per week.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

You will have overall responsibility for the food, beverage and entertainment service on park. You will oversee all aspects of the service and the staff, leading by example with a friendly and professional approach. The role is key to ensuring our customers can relax, dine and enjoy the entertainment activities they are expecting, and also to ensuring that any problems are resolved quickly and professionally.

Some examples of the day-to day duties are:

  • Manage the team rota, ensuring that appropriate staffing levels and effective customer service is maintained throughout opening hours whilst adhering to budgets
  • Manage an effective stock control system; ordering from approved suppliers, rotating stock and minimising waste
  • Manage cellar areas to ensure optimum quality of product, cleanliness and safe storage with the minimum of waste
  • Make sure that all team members are suitably trained, have comprehensive product knowledge and understand what is required from them in their job role
  • Ensure all front of house staff have specific and achievable targets that are reviewed on a regular basis during shift and when giving performance reviews
  • Provide a bar and catering service during busy periods and in the quieter times of the season
  • Ensure that all staff are of a smart, professional appearance, wearing uniforms and name badges at all times
  • Organise and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating all relevant departmental information ensuring the efficient operation of service
  • Build the Team’s confidence in their product knowledge, coaching them to utilise all opportunities to sell/upsell to customers whilst achieving excellent customer service

Skills & Experience Required

You should be passionate about hospitality, enjoy exceeding customer expectations and have a hands-on attitude. You will need to have previous experience of managing a bar, but most importantly a restaurant, and be able to demonstrate effective measures for reducing waste and increasing sales. You will also need to have proven previous experience with managing and developing a staff team and be able to demonstrate effective ways of motivating the team to achieve excellence. Good knowledge of the licensing laws (plus a personal license) and food standards agency code of practice is essential.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, in particular managing a food & beverage service and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to help your team thrive
  • The ability to train and coach others to deliver excellent service
  • Experience of recruiting, coaching and developing a large Front of House team
  • Experience in training waiting on staff on menus including allergen information
  • The ability to resolve customer complaints quickly and cost effectively
  • A good knowledge of relevant Licencing Laws (a personal license is desirable)
  • A flexible, friendly and professional manner
  • A strong commitment to delivering consistently exceptional customer service
