Typical Duties & Responsibilities

Our Kitchen Porters work as part of the wider kitchen and food service team, serving food and drinks, assisting the Chefs in the kitchen, promoting specials, deals and events, and ensuring that the venue is a clean and welcoming place for all our customers! The role is key to ensuring our customers experience a high quality food service, that is provided with the highest food hygiene and safety standards in a truly customer-focused environment.

Some examples of the day-to day duties are:

  • Assisting the Chefs and wider food service team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in accordance with food hygiene legislation
  • Assisting with food preparation tasks as instructed by the chef on duty
  • Maintaining clean premises, clearing and cleaning, ensuring the workstation is kept clean and tidy
  • Assisting with food stock deliveries, ensuring the products are stored at the correct temperatures
  • Ensuring all stores, fridges and freezers are kept clean and tidy, at the correct temperatures and appropriately ventilated

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role, or the ability to learn quickly. You will need to be enthusiastic and friendly. Above all, you will need to have the right attitude. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and so we expect you to do everything in your power to make their Verdant experience the absolute best it could possibly be. We don’t believe in ‘that’s not my job’ so you will need to be adaptable and flexible to help the wider park team meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • A friendly and flexible attitude
  • Awareness of basic food hygiene procedures
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential as full training and support is provided
