Verdant Leisure wins prestigious British Travel Awards
Verdant Leisure has been announced as the winner of the gold accolade in the Best UK Parks and Lodges Holiday Company and silver in the Best UK Family Holiday Company category at the prestigious 2020 British Travel Awards. Usually a live event, this year’s Awards were announced by TV presenter Alex Jones, at a virtual ceremony, broadcast live from London on 14th December.
Verdant Leisure is a bespoke holiday park operator with ten holiday parks set in Scotland and Northern England’s most stunning locations. Celebrating its tenth year in 2020, Verdant Leisure is a key player in the UK travel industry with latest customer satisfaction survey results showing that 95% of holiday guests would recommend Verdant Leisure to family and friends.
Headquartered in Lancaster, the company employs over 300 staff and is passionate about building a solid team, who are invested in the brand and deliver exceptionally high customer service. Graham Hodgson, CEO at Verdant Leisure said, “We are absolutely thrilled to have won the gold accolade in the Best UK Parks and Lodges Holiday Company as well as silver in the Best UK Family Holiday Company, it is a huge achievement and is testament to all the hard work which goes into making sure our guests have an experience they remember”
Verdant has welcomed thousands of new customers into the Verdant family in 2020, many of whom may not have enjoyed a British holiday park break for several years. The post lockdown surge in staycation breaks looks to remain with sales for 2021 increasing YoY.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said, “Verdant Leisure is to be congratulated on winning Best UK Parks and Lodges Holiday Company and Best UK Family Holiday Company category in this most difficult year for the travel industry.”
“The winners of the British Travel Awards are decided by votes from the travelling public and despite many people being unable to take a holiday this year some did manage to, before and between lockdowns. We also asked voters to show their support for companies they had a good experience with, paying attention to customer service – recognising companies who had helped them with re-bookings, refunds and cancellations. The British Travel Awards is still the largest consumer voted awards in the UK and congratulations to all the worthy winners. We’re looking ahead and forward, all being well, to travelling again soon.”
