5 ways to holiday at Golden Coast Leisure Park

30/04/2024

Everyone’s holiday experience is different. Whether you’re looking for chilled-out relaxation, action-packed fun, or something a little different, North Devon could be your perfect UK holiday destination. With something to suit all needs, party sizes, and budgets, discover 5 different ways you can holiday at Golden Coast Leisure Park.

1. Fun-filled family time

We’re committed to putting a holiday smile on your face, no matter your age. Our fantastic entertainment schedule has something to suit everyone, from tots to grannies.

Tots Breaks are specialised holidays for toddlers under 4. Let your little one play and grow through our activities designed especially for them. New activities for 2024 include Crazy Carts, Excited Explorers, and Puppet Playtime with our new friend, Sonny Day. He’s bright, warm, and kind, and he can’t wait to meet you. Plus, with our heated indoor and outdoor pools, it’s the perfect opportunity to teach your tot to swim.

Our resident foxes, Vinnie and Violet, are sure to bring a smile to your child’s face! Join them during the day and early evening for pop parties, explore nature during Top Fox Adventures, and get moving during ACTIV8.

Older kids and teens will love getting involved in our outdoor adventure activities. Try our wave surfing simulator, high ropes, climbing wall, and bungee trampoline. We also have a games arcade full of all-time favourites, hover archery, and Water Walkerz. There’s so much to get involved in, you’ll never hear the words “I’m bored!”

Don’t worry grown-ups, we haven’t forgotten about you. Our dazzling evening entertainment includes live performances from our Verdant Vibes cast, games like cash prize bingo, and visiting live acts. Check out our brand-new celebrity entertainment offering this summer, Star Saturdays.

2. Romantic couples retreat

We don’t just cater to families here at Golden Coast. This coastal paradise offers the perfect escape for couples, too. We’re just a 5-minute drive from the gorgeous Woolacombe Beach, where you could take a shoreline stroll hand-in-hand, or enjoy a romantic picnic whilst watching the sunset. When it comes to date night, the choice is yours – The Old Mill Devonshire Freehouse is our traditional pub serving delicious food and drinks, or you can watch the match together at Harry’s Bar.

For a super luxurious stay, our exclusive hot tub villas are the perfect accommodation for couples. They have all the modern comforts you need to enjoy your stay including a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor seating area, and of course, your own private hot tub.

3. A break with your four-legged friend

Why leave them behind, when you can bring them along to enjoy a fantastic holiday? We have a range of pet-friendly accommodation to cater to you and your pet, from budget-friendly apartments and houses to luxurious villas. Plus, our traditional Devonshire Freehouse – The Old Mill – offers dog-friendly dining, meaning the whole family can enjoy a delicious meal and drinks together.

When you need to get out and stretch your legs, Woolacombe offers plenty of walking routes for dogs and their owners. Some of our favourites include Baggy Point, Heddon’s Mouth, and Morte Point. Click here to read our blog about the best walks in North Devon.

4. Explore the great outdoors

Did you know that North Devon is a surfing hotspot? In fact, Woolacombe Beach has even been compared to Hawaii, thanks to its perfect conditions for water sports (The Times). If you’re a beginner eager to hit the waves, there are plenty of surf schools in the area. Woolacombe Surf Centre is a great choice, and guests at Golden Coast Leisure Park can save 10% here by showing their key card. Aside from the stunning beaches lining North Devon’s coastline, there are a range of walking routes to explore. If you’re up for a challenge, the descend into Lydford Gorge will lead you to the Devil’s Cauldron: an incredible rushing waterfall.

5. Save it for a rainy day

We can’t always predict the weather in Britain. Whilst you don’t have to let the rain stop you from getting out and exploring, there might be some days where you look out the window and think: not today. Here at Golden Coast, we have a whole host of indoor facilities to keep you entertained:

  • Splash, swim, and play in our heated indoor swimming pool
  • Catch a movie at our very own cinema
  • Get creative with pottery painting in Waves Ceramic Studio, before grabbing a Costa Coffee in the café
  • Go head-to-head in our ten-pin bowling alley
  • Enjoy loads of activities like Water Walkerz, Hover Archery, Teddy Mountain, and more!

Remember, you can also mix and match your holiday activities. Maybe on one day, you’d like to get out there and explore, and the next, you fancy a lazy day relaxing in your hot tub. That’s why Golden Coast provides such a variety of accommodation, facilities, and activities to suit whatever holiday mood you choose.
